On October 27th, 2017 The Kiwanis Club of Saint John, RiverCross Church and ONE Change opened our new Kiwanis North End Play Park. After many years of work to bring this dream to fruition, the time had come to celebrate and as we never do anything small we had a two-day event.
On Friday, October 27th, we had a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the park. At this event we had lots of excitement and many partners, businesses, and volunteers and residents who worked so hard for so long. The kids also came from Centennial School and they all participated in the ribbon cutting. Refreshments followed.
On Saturday October 28th we held a shorter ceremony followed by a Family BBQ sponsored by Sobeys to celebrate the new gift to our neighbourhood. We had hundreds of people came out to celebrate.
